Evaluations may also suggest actions that can be taken to prevent cancer. Services are provided by a team of board-certified medical geneticists and genetic counselors. Genetic Counseling Services Cancer Registry Knowledge is one of the best weapons against cancer. At UCI Medical Center, we gather information about the types of cancer that occur in our patients, the extent of the disease and its response to therapy. As an official cancer registry within a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, we carefully record and report data that is used to monitor and improve our nation's public health and cancer care programs.
