Home Research Centers & Institutes Centers In partnership with the CFCCC, the following centers help support our mission by bringing scientists and clinicians together to interact and collaborate around cancer research. Cancer Research Institute The purpose of the UCI Cancer Research Institute (CRI) is to facilitate and coordinate basic cancer-related research and training at UCI. Cancer Research Institute Institute for Clinical and Translational Science The ICTS functions as a local centerpiece for the national ICTS program, and is dedicated to advancing scientific discovery and medical breakthroughs. Collectively, our goal is simple: to accelerate these discoveries from the lab and translate them into life-altering medical care. Learn More about ICTS NSF-Simons Center for Multiscale Cell Fate Research The NSF-Simons Center for Multiscale Cell Fate Research (CMCF) is connecting scientists across mathematical, physical, and biological sciences to usher in a new era of biology. CMCF is one of four NSF-Simons Research Centers for Mathematics of Complex Biological Systems situated across the country, jointly funded by the National Science Foundation and the Simons Foundation. NSF-Simons Center UCI Center for Cancer Systems Biology The overall goal for the UCI Center for Cancer Systems Biology (CaSB@UCI), also known as the Center for Complexity, Cooperation and Community in Cancer, is to understand the principles that underlie why cancers are organized as they are. Center for Cancer Systems Biology UCI Skin Biology Resource Center The Skin Biology Resource Center promotes discoveries in skin biology and disease through cross-fertilization between multiple disciplines that are integrated in a systems biology approach. Skin Biology Resource Center Initiatives In addition to the seven shared resources, the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center supports a number of key initiatives designed to foster collaboration, application and translation of scientific knowledge. Cancer Metabolism Working Group Metabolic reprogramming is now well established as one of the hallmarks of cancer. Importantly, recent progress in studying cancer metabolism has provided remarkable evidence of the crosstalk between metabolic alterations with other cellular activities in cancer. The purpose of this working group is to bring scientists from different fields together in a way that promotes discussion and leads to new, interdisciplinary collaborations. Meetings are held the first and third Wednesday from 2-3 pm every month. If you are interested in joining this working group, please email cfcccadmin@hs.uci.edu. Skin Club Skin Club is a weekly meeting where center laboratories meet to learn about new findings in other laboratories and to exchange scientific ideas to enhance our abilities to implement multidisciplinary approaches to the skin biology work.
